How To Determine Your Size When Buying a Waist Trainer/Corset or BodyShaper

Please refer to the sizing chart when placing your order to ensure you receive the correct size. The size chart is a guideline and does not guarantee a perfect fit. If you have sizing questions please contact us for assistance. We can be contacted at info@akuabamarket.com, please allow 48 hours for a response! If you have not received a response within 48 hours please email us again as your email may have been missed.

We want to help you get the best fit with your new waist trainer. Unfortunately, these body contouring products do not fit like regular clothing. There is no one size fits all. Everybody is shaped differently! That’s why we don’t recommend buying based solely on our size chart. We offer you a free service in which we will get a professional sizing expert to help you determine the best waist trainer and size for you! All you have to do is email us at info@akuabamarket.com with the subject “Sizing Help” and give us your measurements of your waist and torso length as well as a photo of your belly from the front and side view (your face does not have to be included in the photo). We will get back to you within 48 hours from Monday – Friday with a recommended size.

How Do I Measure Myself

A common misconception about measuring yourself for a waist trainer is that you’re supposed to measure the circumference of your hips or that you’re just supposed to order the same size as your shirt or dress size. Neither of these things will ensure that you get a properly fitting waist trainer!

What you actually need to do is measure around your natural waist like I’m doing below:

It’s extremely important that when measuring, you don’t wrap the measuring tape too tightly around your waist. If it’s too tight, you won’t give you an accurate measurement. If you’re unable to easily measure yourself, ask a friend or go to your local seamstress for assistance.

A Quick Guide On How To Get The Correct Measurement:

  1. Grab a measuring tape that has inches
  2. Stand up straight without sucking in your tummy
  3. Wrap the tape around your natural waistline (the smallest part of your torso – see picture above)
  4. Make sure tape isn’t too tight or loose. It should fit snugly enough that it isn’t loose enough to slip a finger between the tape and your abdomen, but not so tight that it leaves any marks or causes the skin to bulge over
  5. Match the # of inches to the chart below, then choose the right size 🙂
